Narrative Description of Indicator
Indicator 8: Parent Involvement This indicator assesses the percentage of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities. In FFY 2016, the DEI/SES changed the state methodology for this indicator and reset the baseline and targets. The new analytic methodology uses a “Percent of Maximum”approach, instead of the previous method of Rasch Analysis. For FFY 2021, 78.39% of preschool parents and 69.05% of school-age parents reported that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities. During the FFY 2021 performance period,the MSDE, DEI/SES did not meet its targets for preschool-age or school-age children with disabilities.
